The Jasper Arts Center hopes to have hanging speakers for the first time for its upcoming performance by Scrap Arts  Music on March 17th.

Last night, the Jasper Arts Commission approved the installation of steel framing for the speakers by Krempp Construction the only company to bid on the project at a cost of nearly $3,000.

Technical Director Doreen Lechner says the new directions performers from Scrap Arts Music were not the only ones who have requested hanging speakers. She says the speakers also free up space both for performers and the audience.

The performance of Scrap Arts Music In the New Directions series is an innovative percussion theatre featuring five performers who play instruments crafted from salvaged and recycled junk.  For more information visit www.scrapartsmusic.com. Tickets are on sale now at Jasper Arts Center. Adult tickets are $33, senior tickets are $30, and student/child tickets are $28.
