A complaint about suspected drug activity led to the arrest of a Jasper man Saturday after a sheet of LSD-soaked tabs, each bearing a Mickey Mouse likeness, was found in his possession.
22-year old Weston Rust of Jasper is charged with a Class B felony count of dealing LSD as a Schedule I controlled substance and a Class D felony count of possession of LSD as a Schedule I controlled substance. He was also charged with violating the terms of his agreement with the Dubois County Community Corrections Center.
A Dubois County sheriff’s deputy who received a tip about Rust’s alleged drug activity noted his agreement with the community corrections program stipulated he could be subject to searches.
The deputy, Jasper Police Department officers and a community corrections case manager went to a restaurant where Rust was employed and conducted a search in an employee break room just after 3 Saturday afternoon. There police found Rust to be in possession of a perforated sheet with eight LSD-soaked tabs.
Rust admitted to police that he had a total of 10 of the drug-laced tabs. He told police he had used two of them himself and intended to sell the others.
Rust was booked into the Dubois County Security Center just before 5 pm Saturday.
