Jasper-based MasterBrand Cabinets announced plans Friday to expand its operations in Goshen, creating up to 76 new jobs by the end of the year.
The company plans to invest $574,000 in equipment that will add capacity and expand the product offering at its 484,500 square-foot facility in Goshen. The expansion, which is expected to be completed by the end of this month, will include the installation of a new miter cell, shaping and finishing equipment, an oven and additional tools to facilitate assembly.
MBCI, which currently employs more than 780 Hoosiers in Goshen and 2,800 at its six Indiana facilities, has begun hiring additional manufacturing, production and support associates.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered MasterBrand up to $350,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $80,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans.
These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives.
