The Indiana Department of Transportation says U.S. 231 in Martin County will undergo a  resurfacing project this year beginning later this month.

Beginning on or after March 18, crews will begin work activities along U.S. 231 between U.S. 50 in Loogootee and State Road 58 in Farlen.

INDOT says during construction flag personnel will be used to control traffic through the work zone, however, drivers should still anticipate delays.

The $1.8 million contract was awarded to Dave O’Mara Contractor, Inc. in November of 2012.

Of course INDOT encourages motorists to slow down and pay special attention while traveling in work zones throughout Indiana.  For the latest news and information about roadway restrictions and conditions, please visit and .
