Last night, the Town of Holland held a special meeting to swear in the town’s new marshal and deputy marshal. New Town Marshal Ron Drew says Holland is a fine community and he already knows quite a few people. He also says his day-to-day schedule should be smooth.

Drew, who was with the Huntingburg Police Department  for over 32 years and spent the last 8 of those as police chief, says he was planning to stay retired, but when a Holland Town Board member approached him with this opportunity, he couldn’t resist.

Paul Voegerl Jr, the new Holland Deputy Town Marshal, says he had some trouble finding a long-term career, but things just fell into place with this opportunity.

Voegerl Jr, who has lived in Holland for nearly 8 years, had his eye set on becoming a state police trooper, but was tired of moving and ready to settle down in one place.
