Indiana Department of Homeland Security Weather Alert

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security wants to remind Hoosiers to be aware of weather conditions today as a possibility for severe weather and tornadoes does exist in the next 24 hours.

The National Storm Prediction Center says there is a moderate chance for severe weather in most of the state today through this evening.  The National Weather Service says these storms may bring widespread damaging winds, large hail, dangerous lightning, tornadoes, and torrential rainfall producing flash flooding.

Folks should remain aware of ever-changing weather conditions, and to be ready to take action at home or work if the need arises. Also use caution if traveling while severe weather is in the area, and be aware of any issues that might occur as kids are coming home from school.

Of course, tune into 101 Country WBDC throughout the day and evening for the latest word on any severe weather watches or warnings that may be issued.
