No one was injured in an accident in Jasper yesterday afternoon.

Jasper Police say 22-year-old Whitney Hildenbrand of Jasper was eastbound on 14th Street at the intersection of Main Street just after 4 pm when the accident took place.

Police say 79-year-old Martina Berger of Jasper was northbound on Main Street approaching the 14th Street intersection with the right of way and no stop sign. Police say Hildenbrand stated that she looked south but didn’t see Berger’s vehicle due to parked vehicles in the area.

Hildenbrand pulled into the intersection and collided with Berger’s vehicle. The two vehicles became joined together upon impact and wound up in the front yard of Jim Dalton in the 1400 block of Main Street. The two vehicles landed on top of a landscaping area in the southwest corner of the Dalton property and took down a stop sign for westbound traffic. Hildenbrand’s car suffered $5,000 in damages and Berger’s car suffered $7,500 worth of damage.

Hildenbrand was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
