Two Martin County men were arrested in Jasper yesterday evening following a report from an off-duty Sheriff’s deputy.
At approximately 6:30 pm, Dubois County Sheriff’s deputies were advised by an off-duty sheriff’s deputy concerning two men purchasing items at Holiday Foods in Jasper that are commonly used in making methamphetamine.
When they arrived at the scene, deputies, through assistance from an Indiana State Police K-9, found that Nicholas Guy and Joseph Earl, both of Loogootee, had narcotics in their vehicle at some point in time. Police also say they found methamphetamine and marijuana packaged to be sold in the vehicle.
Both Guy and Earl were arrested and both were charged with a Class A felony for dealing methamphetamine, Class C felonies for possession of precursors and possession of controlled substance, and a Class A misdemeanor for dealing marijuana.
Guy was additionally charged with a Class D felony of maintaining a common nuisance since they were within 1,000 feet of a public park. Earl was additionally charged with a Class B misdemeanor for visiting a common nuisance.
Both Guy and Earl were lodged at the Dubois County Security Center.
