Tonight is World Book Night. The goal of World Book Night is to find light or non-readers in communities and encourage them to read.

Chocolate Bliss and the Jasper Chamber of Commerce are a couple of local groups among 25,000 volunteers.

6,000 towns and cities across the country will be getting books for citizens today.

Locally, Chocolate Bliss will be handing out Playing for Pizza, a John Grisham novel, and the Jasper Chamber’s book, Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life by James Patterson between 6 and 7 pm this evening.

There are 20 copies of each book available. There is no cost for these books.

There is a limit of one book per person and books will be given on a first-come first-serve basis. No books will be given out before 6 pm this evening.

Chocolate Bliss will also be giving out free cups of coffee during tonight’s event.
