The intersection commonly known as Bretzville Junction will soon have a stop light.

The intersection of State Road 162 and State Road 64, long plagued by traffic jams around the morning and afternoon rushes at the current four-way stop, will see a traffic light installed some time later this spring.

INDOT officials say construction for the new traffic signal will begin soon. Officials say the contract was awarded for the project last month and INDOT is currently waiting on the contractor to set a date for the beginning of installation and construction at the intersection.

The project was announced in early December of last year after a traffic study conducted by INDOT backed the public’s request as well as the need for a signal at the Bretzville Junction.
