Huntingburg Set to Hold Public Hearing on Downtown Project

Tonight, the Huntingburg City Council will hold their first public hearing on the Downtown Revitalization Plan. The hearing is the first public hearing to be held on this particular project.

During his appearance earlier this week on 18 WJTS’ Monday with the Mayor, Huntingburg Mayor Denny Spinner explained the project and said the project runs fairly parallel to the current Patoka Lake water main project. He also talks about the two engineering firms selected for starting the process of applying for a planning grant, Development Concepts and Commonwealth Engineering, and their roles in the project:

Spinner says the city is confident that they will be successful in getting a planning grant for this project. He says should the grant application be successful, a series of public hearings will follow this one to get the input of the community on the project.

Spinner said this plan ultimately is important in order to establish a clear direction for the future of the downtown area:

The public hearing is set to take place at the beginning of the council meeting tonight at 7 pm at Huntingburg City Hall on Fourth Street.
