Tomorrow, the Jasper Farmer’s Market is set to kick off its 2013 season.
The market will be open tomorrow morning from 7:30 to 11:30 am on the green North of the Jasper Train Depot.
The Farmers Market began in 2005 as an outlet for providing income to local producers as well as local products for consumers and a community gathering place.
The market will soon have strawberries, radishes, peas, beets, rhubarb and other early spring produce. Past offerings have included eggplants, cabbages, pears, apples, and cantaloupe among other things when in season.
Tomorrow’s opening day will feature local chainsaw artist Sheri Kieffner showcasing her talent. Next Saturday, June 1st, Santa will make an appearance (dressed in summer attire), and Strings Incorporated will be performing at the June 28th Farmers Market.
