A call from an officer about potential drug activity in a Jasper apartment complex led to the arrest of a Jasper man on drug charges Wednesday afternoon.
Dubois County Sheriff’s deputies say Deputy John Anderson called for K9 assistance after receiving a call from a colleague concerning drug activity in Apartment 205 at Village Court Apartments in Jasper.
K-9 Ares, the newest officer on the sheriff’s force, went along with Anderson to the residence of 40-year-old David Koller. However, Anderson found drug paraphernelia in plain sight and Ares wasn’t needed.
A search of the apartment by officers turned up about half a pound of marijuana (including some ready to sell), seeds, cash, scales, and other items normally associated with the dealing of marijuana.
Koller was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center. He faces a Class C felony for dealing within 1,000 feet of a daycare center (Krazy About Kids is near the complex) and dealing within a housing complex as well as Class D felonies for possession of over 30 grams of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance. He also faces a misdemeanor for possession of paraphernelia.
