Orange County Man Injured in Motorcycle Crash

An Orange County man was injured when he lost control and wrecked his motorcycle on State Road 56 in northern Dubois County this morning.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says 44-year old Stephen Plimpton of French Lick was headed westbound on State Road 56 just east of Kellerville Road around 7 this morning when he lost control of his 2005 Yamaha motorcycle, laying the bike on it’s side.

Deputies say Plimpton’s bike skidded 185 feet before coming to a rest in the roadway on it’s side.  Despite wearing a helmet Plimpton suffered a head injury as well as injuries to his hip and hand.  He was taken to Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

$2000 worth damage was reported and no charges were filed.
