Tell City officials have made plans to demolish several “eyesore” structures across the city.

There are a total of 15 properties across the city as identified by Tell City officials, one of which, located in the 600 block of 13th Street, may be demolished by the end of 2013.

As a way to address the issue, the city has given the owners of the properties 60 days to present a plan to either tear down or renovate their properties at special hearings. City officials say if nothing is done in 60 days, the city will begin demolition of the properties.

Tell City mayor Barbara Ewing says she believes that removing the eyesores will boost pride and the plan couldn’t come at a better time as they look to attract new businesses to Tell City.

City officials say they hope to have demolition or renovation well underway on all of these properties by the end of this year.
