An accident along State Road 545 yesterday evening resulted in one person being injured.
Dubois County sheriff’s deputies say 20-year-old Keith Small of Dubois was northbound on State Road 545 just south of Kalb-Zehr Road at 7:45 pm last night when the accident took place. Deputies say Small started to brake, but also started drifting off of the eastside of the roadway and struck a guardrail at an angle. Small’s vehicle then went back into its lane of travel before crossing the center line and striking a concrete bridge. Small’s vehicle came to rest at a right angle to the bridge, blocking the southbound lane of travel.
Small suffered a broken finger in the crash. His car was totaled. No charges were filed. State Road 545 was closed for about an hour last night while clean-up of the accident scene took place.
The Dubois Volunteer Fire Department and Memorial Hospital EMS assisted at the scene.
