Jasper Man Arrested for Public Intox at Green Thumb

A complaint by a Jasper business Monday afternoon led to the arrest of a Jasper man on public intoxication charges.

Jasper Police were called to the Green Thumb Nursery along Third Avenue just before Michael Chapin3:50 pm on Monday on a complaint of a man in the greenhouse that appeared to be intoxicated. When they arrived, police found that 46-year-old Michael Chapin of Jasper had damaged a window screen and knocked over a display cart. Chapin also was found to have been intoxicated.

He was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center. He faces Class B misdemeanors for Public Intoxication as well as for Criminal Mischief.
