A car vs house accident last night in Huntingburg resulted in one person being arrested for operating while intoxicated.
Huntingburg Police were called to a residence at the corner of 12th and Jackson Streets in Huntingburg just before 5:50 pm yesterday afternoon in response to a car vs house accident. Upon arriving at the scene, police found that 28-year-old David Dodson of Huntingburg had lodged his vehicle underneath the residence.
Police also discovered the odor of alcohol on Dodson. Dodson’s BAC was found to be .15 percent (almost twice the legal limit) and officers also located paraphernelia belonging to Dodson. He was transported to Memorial Hospital where a medical exam further revealed that he was under the influence of cannabinoids.
Dodson was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center and faces a Class A misdemeanor for Operating While Intoxicated with a BAC of .15 or higher. He also has charges pending for the paraphernelia.
Nobody was in the residence at the time of the crash and Dodson was not injured, though his car was totaled.
Dubois County Sheriff’s deputies, Memorial Hospital EMS and KARS Towing Service all assisted at the scene.
