Routine Traffic Stop Leads to Spencer County Man’s Arrest

A routine traffic stop in Ferdinand resulted in the arrest of a Spencer County resident early this morning.

Ferdinand Police pulled over 34-year-old Brandon Drinnon of Chrisney at Industrial Park Road just north of Third Street in Ferdinand Brandon Drinnonjust after 1:10 am this morning after an officer noticed Drinnon tailgating another vehicle.

During the traffic stop, the officer found that Drinnon’s license had been suspended in Tennessee and the vehicle had no proof of insurance. A passenger in the vehicle claimed that she had just bought the vehicle, but police say she could not provide a bill of sale or any proof of ownership. Officers also say the vehicle’s title was unsigned. Also during the traffic stop, officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol on Drinnon’s breath.

Drinnon was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center. He is charged with Operating While Intoxicated, driving while license suspended, no proof of insurance, and false and fictitious registration. The vehicle involved was towed to Berg’s Garage in St. Anthony.

Dubois County Sheriff’s deputies and a wrecker from Berg’s Garage assisted at the scene.
