A traffic stop in Gibson County on Friday night resulted in the arrest of a Knox County man who was impaired while driving with his 9-year-old grandson in the vehicle.
Indiana State Police say Gibson County Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call concerning a possible impaired driver heading southbound along US 41 at about 10 pm on Friday evening. Troopers located the vehicle and pulled it over on US 41 near Coal Mine Road. The driver, identified as 53-year-old Anthony Preske of Vincennes, was found to be intoxicated. The trooper who pulled Preske over found an open 12-pack of beer in the bed of his truck. It was also discovered that Preske was transporting his 25-year-old son and 9-year-old grandson in the truck. Additionally, Preske had a previous conviction for DWI on his record according to police.
Preske was lodged in the Gibson County Jail. He faces Class D felonies for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a passenger under the age of 18 and for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated With a Prior DWI Conviction.
