Another local police department is lending a hand in child safety seat installation.
The Ferdinand Police Department will have officers available to offer assistance with child safety seats and their proper installation this Saturday, September 21st. Officers will be checking for proper seat installation and will also be answering questions about child safety seats.
Ferdinand Police Chief Ricky Patton says when child safety seats are not installed correctly, the end results in the event of a vehicle accident have the potential to be tragic. He says he encourages people to stop by to make sure all is well with their child safety seats.
The installations will take place at Ferdinand’s Fire Station Number 2 along West 23rd Street from 8 til 11 am on Saturday. For more information on the Ferdinand Police Department, you can go to ferdinandindiana.org.
As mentioned earlier, Ferdinand is the second local police department this week to announce its availability to install child safety seats. Jasper Police issued a public reminder yesterday that they have several officers certified in child seat installation that can help with child seat installations.
