A prominent Jasper business has officially unveiled its new home.

This morning, Jasper-based Stens Corporation, a global supplier for replacement parts on outdoor equipment, held a formal ribbon cutting for its new headquarters facility in the 1900 block of Hospitality Drive on Jasper’s southside. The move into the new facility was officially completed back in July.

Stens President and CEO Peter Ariens says this is a big day for the company. He says the new building will make the company more efficient over the long term:

Local and state officials, including Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann and Jasper mayor Terry Seitz spoke at this morning’s opening ceremony. Ellspermann says the additional jobs and growth provided by companies like Stens are important to the growth of communities across the state:

The plans for the new facility were formally announced by Stens back in December of 2011. Just under 2.3 million dollars was spent on renovating the new 208,400 square foot facility. The company says it plans to add nearly 100 jobs by 2015. The company currently employs about 200 associates at the Jasper facility and 275 associates across the country.

Stens was founded back in 1970 and has distribution centers in seven states and four different countries.
