On Thursday, members of the Washington School Board met to discuss ongoing issues with the roof at Griffith Elementary School.
Washington assistant superintendent Gary Puckett says the roof at Griffith currently has several serious leaks in it that have caused problems for some time. He says the corporation has already patched the roof several times to the best of its abilities.
At Thursday night’s meeting, Puckett presented an analysis to the board concerning the roof’s conditions. He says the cost to replace the roof has tripled over the last three years. Puckett says the exact cost is unknown until the roofing company gets in and starts working. The current roof was put in place back in 1995 and 1996.
The board ultimately decided to meet again this upcoming Thursday to further discuss the issue.
