BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) – Authorities say some cars have derailed from a coal train near Bloomington in southern Indiana.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department says the derailment happened about 2 a.m. Wednesday involving a train with about 100 cars. WTHR-TV reports (http://bit.ly/17I3OY9) no other vehicles were involved and no one was hurt.
The train cars did knock down power lines, leaving several homes without electricity in the area near Indiana 45 a few miles northeast of Bloomington.
Inspectors were working to determine what caused the derailment of the train traveling from the Carlisle area in Sullivan County to Indianapolis.
