Dubois Man Involved in Weekend Bar Fight Dead

A Dubois man who was left in critical condition after being severely beaten in a fight outside a Jasper tavern early Saturday morning has died.

Jasper Police say 41-year old Timothy Stafford passed away at 7:20 central time Wednesday evening at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

Around 3 am Saturday Jasper Police officiers and an ambulance were called to JR’s Bar located along South Clay Street where a male was reported to be unresponsive due to a physical altercation that had just taken place.

Once on the scene, police and paramedics found Stafford lying on the ground outside the bar unresponsive and not breathing.

Stafford was taken to Memorial Hospital in Jasper before being Life-Flighted to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville where he had been listed in critical condition.

A police investigation into the incident indicated that Stafford had gotten into a fight outside the bar with 23-year old Leslie Osborn and 22-year old Zachary Parks both of Petersburg.
