The Dubois County Health Department will be extending its hours for folks who wish to get flu vaccines.

The department will be hosting extended hours this upcoming Thursday, October 24th. The vaccines will be available from 8 to 11 am and from 1 to 6 pm that day.

The influenza vaccine will cost $30. High dose vaccine is available for people age 65 and older and that dose will cost $45.
Health department officials say they will be accepting Private Insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare Part B as methods of payment. All insurance cards will have to be presented at the time of service.

The Health Department is partnering with VaxCare, which will submit claims to certain private insurance companies and Medicare Part B.

Health officials say that the flu shot is the very best way to avoid getting the flu each fall. Officials say everyone age 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine.
