A local care center will be hosting an event in honor of a national day of service later this month in Jasper.

Home Instead Senior Care of Jasper will be hosting an event at the Dubois County Humane Society in honor of National Make a Difference Day. The event is set to take place from 11 am until 2 pm on Saturday, October 26th.

During this time frame, people can drop off donations, see the animals that the Humane Society has up for adoption, and enjoy live music and refreshments. The Humane Society is currently in need of several items and these include:

Scoopable cat litter
Canned food (cats and dogs)
Purina brand dry food (dog/puppy and cat/kitten chow)
rawhide chewables
soft dog treats
slip leashes
large Kongs
postage stamps
liquid laundry detergent
bleach
Pine Sol
paper towels
bathroom tissue
bath towels
baking soda

The Humane Society will also be accepting cash donations.

The Home Instead Senior Care office will be accepting donations up until the day of the event for those who wish to donate but are unable to attend. The HISC office is open from 8:00-5:00 Monday through Friday and located at 216 W. 6th St. Suite 106 in Jasper.
