A shooting incident at a residence on the northeast side of Jasper yesterday resulted in a man being airlifted to a regional hospital.

Dubois County Sheriff’s deputies and Jasper Police were called to a residence in the north 5000 block of Kellerville Road just before 3:30 pm yesterday on a report of shots being fired in the area. When police arrived, they located a man (name not released) with a gun shot wound to the head. The man was taken to Memorial Hospital and was later life flighted to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The weapon was located and secured by police.

Deputies say the investigation is still ongoing. Foul play is not suspected in this case.
