Two people were injured in an accident along State Road 164 after one of the drivers involved went left of center.

Dubois County Sheriff’s deputies say 25-year-old Ashley Dunn and 20-year-old Jennifer Weinzapfel were traveling in opposite directions along State Road 164 east of Greener Road just before 12:40 pm on Tuesday when the accident took place. Deputies say Dunn was heading westbound on SR 164 and Weinzapfel was heading eastbound. According to an investigation by the sheriff’s department, Dunn was driving left of center at the time that the accident occurred. The two vehicles collided along State Road 164 in the middle of the eastbound lane near Greener Road.

Dunn complained of head and shoulder pain while Weinzapfel complained of foot pain. Both were taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Both Dunn and Weinzapfel’s cars were totalled in the crash. Dunn was cited for driving left of center, driving while suspended, false registration, and no insurance. Other charges are pending according to sheriff’s deputies.
