The jury in the David Bisard trial will take up deliberations again today.
After getting the case just before 3 p.m. Monday, jurors deliberated until breaking for dinner. They are wrestling through nine criminal charges related to reckless and drunk driving. In closing statements Monday, Bisard‘s attorney accused the prosecution of “trashing” the testimony of witnesses, several dozen, who say Bisard didn‘t appear impared or intoxicated the day of the fatal crash. The defense says the states case “dances” around evidence and boldly asserted it was easier to believe blood tests were flawed then accept that every witness was fooled.
The prosecution says that evidence is reliable and the witnesses weren‘t proactively looking for a drunk police officer.
