Cannelton Police Seek Man in Connection with Thursday Kidnapping

Cannelton Police are seeking a man who is on the loose after a kidnapping that took place last night.

Police chief Lee Hall says 32-year-old Paul Lenz kidnapped a man from a parking lot at a business along State Road 66 at around 9:15 last night. According to police, Hall showed a gun and demanded that the male victim drive him to Tell City. Lenz got out of the vehicle for a short time after they arrived in Tell City. The victim was able to drive home and call police after the incident. Police say he was not hurt.

Police say they believe Lenz was last seen in Hawesville, Kentucky near a Marathon gas station along Main Street. Lenz was believed to have been on foot at that time. Police say they are unsure where Lenz may
have gone from there, but they say Lenz has connections in Tennessee.

Anyone who has any information on Lenz’s whereabouts is asked to call Cannelton Police at 547-2111 or to call 911.
