The Dubois County Health Department is holding extended hours next Thursday in order to host a influenza vaccine clinic.
The hours will be from 8-11 am and 1-6 pm on Thursday, November 21st. The cost for the influenza vaccine is $30. High dose flu vaccine will be available for anyone age 65 and older. The cost will be $40 for the high dose vaccine.
Health department officials say they will be accepting private insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare as methods of payment. All insurance cards will have to be presented at the time of service. The Health Department says it is partnering with VaxCare, which will be submitting claims to certain private insurance companies as well as to Medicare Part B.
Health officials say the single best way to prevent the flu far and away is to get the flu shot. Everyone age 6 months and older should get the flu shot according to health officials.
