A Loogootee man suffered minor injuries after his truck rolled over along State Road 56 in Dubois County yesterday afternoon.

Indiana State Police say 60-year-old Robert Lee of Loogootee was eastbound on State Road 56 west of County Road 325 East at about 1 pm yesterday afternoon. Police say while eastbound, Lee’s truck left the roadway in a curve and hit a ditch, causing his semi truck and trailer to flip over and hit a utility pole. The load of grain in the trailer was spilled out over the roadway.

Lee suffered minor scratches to his head and he refused medical treatment at the scene according to police. Police say Lee was wearing his Loogootee Rollover Crashseatbelt at the time of the crash, which may have saved his life. The semi trailer was a total loss in the crash. State Road 56 remained closed late yesterday afternoon as cleanup crews were on scene to clean the spilled grain off of the highway. One lane of the road remained open to traffic according to state police.

The Haysville Fire Department and Dubois County EMS all assisted at the scene.
