An area organization gave special recognition to the Martin County Commissioners at their most recent meeting.
Rhonda Rumble with the Southern Indiana Development Commission (SIDC) showed up at the meeting to present a plaque to the commissioners in honor of 40 years of Martin County as a member of SIDC. Commissioner Dan Gregory was also given a shirt in recognition of his service on the SIDC board. Rumble also presented a pay application for the Lost River Fire Station. The application accounted for items such as steel structure and HVAC unit.
In other news from the meeting, Gregory read a proclamation declaring November 9th as Veterans Recognition Day in Martin County. All citizens are being encouraged to commemorate the day. Finally, the commissioners approved a contract with the county’s Purdue Extension office for next year.
