A local detachment of the Marine Corps League is set to open its Toys for Tots campaign this week.
Starting tomorrow and running through to December 14th, the Southern Indiana Leathernecks will be collecting toys in 5 counties, including Dubois. The detachment will be taking new, unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots campaign. Toys can be dropped off at several locations across the listening area. These will include:
Jasper: Wal-Mart, Rural King, The Sun Station, Old National Bank-Main Branch, Dollar General-North and South, K-Mart, Walgreens, Nonte Chiropractic, Big Lots, Uelbehor Toyota, American Legion, Sun Tan City, and Southern Sweets Bakery
Huntingburg: Dollar General, Dr. Gilbert Chiropractic, FedEx, Family Dollar, Dr. Dixie Cox, Dr. Pam Buss All-in-one Chiropractic, New Dimensions Gym

Drop boxes will be at all of these locations starting tomorrow and they will be emptied periodically. The last day for pickup will be on December 14th.
The Southern Indiana Leathernecks say they will also be conducting the “TFT Train Cut-out Program” again this year. Folks visiting local convenience stores will be able to buy a train cutout for 1 dollar at checkout. Tot this point, the Northside Citgo in Jasper and Casey’s in Huntingburg have agreed to support this program. The group is currently working to get more support, so look for any TFT Cut-Outs as you visit other local stores.
Monetary donations are also accepted as a part of the Toys for Tots program. Checks may be made payable to “Toys for Tots.” They should be sent to Marine Corps League, c/o TFT, PO Box 184, Jasper, IN 47547.
For more information, you can call the TFT Hotline at 827-4610. You can also look for the TFT links on sildmarines.com and jasper-in.toysfortots.org or find the group on Facebook.
