2 Drivers Hurt in Germantown Shopping Center Accident

Two drivers suffered minor injuries in an accident near the Germantown Shopping Center in Jasper yesterday afternoon.

Jasper Police say that just before 3:10 pm yesterday afternoon, 55-year-old Vicki Conad of French Lick was stopped at the Germantown Shopping Center waiting to pull out onto US 231. Police say Conad pulled out onto the highway, but did not see a southbound vehicle on US 231 driven by 65-year-old William Bateman of Ferdinand. Conad pulled into the intersection and her vehicle was hit in the driver’s side by Bateman’s vehicle.

Conad complained of back pain while Bateman complained of chest pain. Both drivers denied transport to the hospital by ambulance. Each vehicle suffered 5 thousand dollars worth of damage in the crash and Conad was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
