Dooley Makes 1st Court Appearance; Bond Set at $75k

A Ferdinand woman who was charged in a double fatality crash east of the Bretzville Junction was in court this morning.

20-year-old Carlisha Dooley of Ferdinand made an appearance in Dubois Superior Court. Her bond was set at 75 thousand dollars during today’s court appearance. Dooley was originally arrested on Monday on warrant. She is facing 2 Class C felonies for driving while under the influence of a controlled substance causing death and 2 Class C felony counts for reckless homicide. She was additionally cited Carlisha Dooleyfor a driving while suspended infraction. Police say the results of a toxicology taken after the crash are preliminary and they have yet to say what substance was alleged to have been in Dooley’s system at the time of the crash.

20-year-old Jessica Morgan and 28-year-old Eric Bureau (who were passengers in Dooley’s vehicle) succumbed to injuries sustained in this crash. Deputies say Dooley’s vehicle was eastbound along State Road 64 at a high rate of speed when she lost control of her vehicle. Dooley’s vehicle hit a guardrail along the south side of the roadway, which caused it to go down an embankment, go through a tree, and possibly overturn before coming to rest on its tires.
