A Huntingburg man landed behind bars overnight after it was found that he was never licensed to drive.
At about 1 am this morning, Huntingburg Police stopped a red Dodge Durango for driving left of center in the 100 block of East 1st Street. Upon further investigation, it was found that the driver (46-year-old Miguel Melgar of Huntingburg) did not have an American driver’s license, though he did provide an international driver’s license. Melgar told police that was the only license that he had.
Melgar was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center on a Class C misdemeanor charge of Operator Never Licensed.
