A complaint about drug use led to a Holland man’s arrest yesterday morning.
Officers with the Jasper Police Department and Dubois County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Holiday Inn Express in Jasper at 9:40 yesterday morning on a report of drug use taking place. K-9 dog Ares was called in to search a hallway and Ares indicated a drug odor coming from Room 323 (which was occupied by 24-year-old Anthony Wilkins of Holland). Officers then applied for and received a search warrant for the room through Dubois County Superior Court. After searching the room, police found controlled substances, legend drugs, marijuana, and other drug paraphernelia in the room.
Wilkins was taken into custody and lodged in the Dubois County Security Center. He is facing Class D felonies for maintaining a common nuisance along with 2 counts for possession of a legend drug. He is additionally facing a Class C felony for possession of a controlled substance and Class A misdemeanors for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernelia.
