5 people were left injured after a 2 vehicle crash in southern Spencer County this afternoon.
Indiana State Police say at about 1:15 pm central time, 22-year-old Farah Smith of Grandview was eastbound on State Road 66 approaching County Road 275 West near South Spencer High School. They say Smith then ran a red light at the intersection and hit a truck driven by 39-year-old Jonathan Gunn of Rockport. Gunn had been driving southbound on County Road 275 West and was trying to turn onto State Road 66 at the time of the crash. The impact pushed Gunn’s truck off of the roadway and into a culvert on the southeast side of the intersection.
Smith and three passengers, 26-year-old Andrew Smith and 3-year-olds Riley and Aden Smith (all of Grandview) were taken to Owensboro Health on complaints of pain. Gunn was also taken to Owensboro Hospital after complaining of pain. Smith was cited for disregarding an automatic signal.
Spencer County EMS and the Ohio and Luce Township Fire Departments also assisted.
