A Spencer County theatre has announced its lineup for the upcoming season.
Lincoln Amphitheatre will be opening its 2014 season in June with the musical A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale. The musical has been a staple for Lincoln Amphitheatre and covers Lincoln’s boyhood in Indiana. That time period covers Lincoln from 7 to 21 years old.
A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale will get underway on June 19th. It will also run two weeks longer this year than it has in the past. It is set to run on Wednesday and Saturday evenings from June 19th to July 26th. Matinee performances will take place on Sunday July 13th and on Wednesday July 25th.
Other performances set for this year at Lincoln Amphitheatre are:
-Celtic Song and Dance (Sunday August 17th)
-Route 66 (Sept 12th-14th)
-Trail of Terror (Oct 11, 17-18, 24-25)
-Scrooge’s Christmas (Dec 6, 13, and 20)
Scrooge’s Christmas will feature three performances on each of its 3 dates. That play will also be held indoors due to the unpredictability of December weather. Scrooge’s Christmas is written by Ken Jones. Jones is the playwright and director for A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale.
Lincoln Amphitheatre season tickets will go on sale starting on April 7th. The season ticket is 50 dollars and it includes admission to four events (not including Trail of Terror). Those who buy season tickets prior to Friday April 18th will have the chance to get 2 season ticket packages for 75 dollars. Season passes for A. Lincoln: A Pioneer’s Tale are also available for 60 dollars.
