Firefighters with the Dubois Volunteer Fire Department were kept busy this afternoon fighting a fire in a wooded area.

Just after 12:40 pm, they were called to a reported woods fire at a residence in the 9300 block of North County Road 960 East. When they arrived, they found a roughly 2 acre wooded area belonging to Jeff Lomax burning. The fire was quickly contained to those two acres and was put out a short time later.

Dubois Fire Department spokesman Zach Eichmiller says the fire was caused by a power line that broke after a tree was knocked over onto it by the wind. Eichmiller says there was no damage to personal property in this fire.

The Dubois Fire Department responded with 3 trucks and 18 men. They were on the scene for about 35 minutes.
