A local economic development group held its yearly luncheon yesterday.

Dubois Strong hosted the annual event yesterday morning and into the afternoon
at the Huntingburg Event Center. The organization says more than 150 reservations were made for the luncheon, a sign of renewed interest in the organization and its cause.

Board chairman Dr. Alan Johnson spoke about the organization’s mission, touching on the ideas of private investment and highway expansion among other topics.

He says the organization’s agenda also matches up with governor Mike Pence’s economic plans:

Johnson also touched on affordable housing for folks coming to work in Dubois County. He says having that housing for folks looking for work in the county will be a must:

Yesterday’s luncheon also saw the recognition of a Jasper businessman.

Mike Braun, the owner of Meyer Distributing, Incorporated was honored with the 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year Award during the luncheon.
