Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson is now reminding folks of a key deadline for May’s primary election.
The deadline for voter registration in May’s primary is next Monday, April 7th. Folks can go to IndianaVoters.com to verify, update, or start a new voter registration.
Now Lawson is encouraging folks to register for the primary in order to make their voices heard. She also says those folks who are turning 18 prior to November’s general election are eligible to register and vote in May’s primary.
Military families are being encouraged to get their loved ones who are serving overseas to register and request absentee ballots for the primary. Active duty military members and spouses should register to vote and apply for an absentee ballot by utilizing the Federal Post Card Application. That application can be done by going to fvap.gov.
Voters who want to mail in their registration must have a postmark date of no later than April 7th. Any applications postmarked after that date will not be accepted. More information is available, again, by going online to indianavoters.com.
