Daviess Community Hospital has been recognized for the efforts of one of its rehabilitation facilities.

The hospital’s Acute Rehabilitation Unit has received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The accreditation is for a 3 year time period for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs at the hospital level. The accreditation is good through 2017.

The Acute Rehab Unit has had continuous accreditation since 2005. In a news release, DCH Acute Rehab Unit Program Director Lorri Brown says DCH is honored to have one of the few accredited facilities in the area. She says the entire staff contributed to the accreditation efforts as the process is an ongoing one.

The mission of CARF is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through their accreditation process. They also push continuous improvement of services centered around enhancing the lives of the people that a center serves.
