The Dubois County Solid Waste Management District will be offering a special booth for folks to visit at this year’s county 4H fair.

In addition to information about county recycling services, kids and adults will be able to go through a collection of gently used books for adoption. Folks will also be able to make bookmarks out of recyclables and sign up for nightly “green living” prizes.

In a news release, solid waste director Carla Striegel-Winner says the district is excited to be able to offer the Adopt a Book program this year. She says the books come from local residents and organizations that would otherwise be recycled instead of reused.

The booth will be set up in Exhibit Building 2 North at the county fairgrounds from Tuesday July 15th through Friday July 18th. Folks are encouraged to stop by to introduce themselves, take part in the activities, and get questions answered concerning recycling and proper waste disposal in Dubois County.
