A Kentucky man was killed Thursday evening when his truck rolled over on top of him in rural Pike County.
Indiana State Police were called to an area along County Road 75 South near County Roadf 325 West Thursday night after a neighbor found a man underneath a pickup truck in a field. State Police detectives say the man (72-year-old Lonnie Frederick of Madisonville) had been driving along County Road 75 South when he pulled off of the roadway for an unknown reason. He stopped about 20 feet off of the roadway on a slight downgrade in the farm field.
Police say Frederick got out of his truck without putting it in park and walked to the front. The truck then started to roll and ran over Frederick. The Pike County Coroner pronounced Frederick dead at the scene. The autopsy listed Frederick’s death as accidental.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Department also assisted.
