Brian Patrick Matheis, age 44, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 1:13 a.m. on Friday (August 28, 2015) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Brian was born in Jasper, Indiana on July 19, 1971 to Patrick and Jane (Jochem)  Matheis.   He married Sheila Marie Gehlhausen on November 1, 1997 at Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper, Indiana.

Brian was a 1989 graduate of Jasper High School.

He worked for 18 years as a Materials Damage Coordinator at Farm Bureau Insurance in Jasper.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper.

He enjoyed restoring cars, drag racing, fishing and playing golf.

Loretta Hasenour, age 86 of Saint Anthony, Indiana, passed away at 9:35 p.m. on Wednesday (August 26, 2015) at St Charles Health Campus  in Jasper, Indiana.

Loretta was born in Celestine, Indiana on July 23, 1929 to Herbert and Rose (Reckelhoff) Stemle.  She married Jerome T. Hasenour on October 2, 1947 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on January 2, 2010.

Loretta was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony, Indiana and the St. Anthony Christian Mothers.

She was a member of the St. Anthony Community Center, the St. Anthony Conservation Club, and the Senior Citizens Club.

She enjoyed flowers ,working in the yard, and spending time with family and friends.

Opal F. Woolsey, age 80, of Stendal, passed away at 7:53 a.m., Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

She was born March 1, 1935 in Washington, Indiana, to Marvin and Ruth (Stephens) Walters.  She was married to Valoris Boyd Woolsey on February 28, 1964 at Bethel General Baptist Church near Stendal.  Mrs. Woolsey was a homemaker and worked on the family’s farm.  She was a member of Bethel General Baptist Church where she served for many years as the church secretary.  Opal was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother who died during the Vietnam War, Bobby Walters.

Michael L. Oeding, age 60 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at  6:00 a.m. on Wednesday (August 26, 2015) at home.

Mike was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on July 12, 1955 to Linus and Marcella (Messmer) Oeding.  He married Donna Krodel on January 13, 1979 in St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Mike was the Assistant Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Jasper since 1977.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Ireland Knights of Columbus, the Jasper Gun Club, the Dubois County Sportsman’s Club, and the Indiana Parks and Recreation Association.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan.

Bob was born in Jasper, Indiana on August 18, 1964 to Ronald “Butch” and Alene (Werner)Schneider.

Bob was a truck driver Bunny Bread for many years, and was also a welder for S&S Machine Shop in Boonville, IN.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing, playing golf, and spending time with his family.

Ruth B. Jones, age 91, of Huntingburg, passed away at 3:24 a.m., onThursday, August 27, 2015, at her residence.

She was born February 10, 1924 in Perry County, Indiana, to James A. and Ida (Taylor) Lanman.  Ruth was a homemaker and member of Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church in Bristow.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Jones, who died September 1, 1983; three brothers, Everett, Ervin and Cliston Lanman; and five sisters, Evelyn Gaines, Irma Wright, Ruby Klem, Betty Egbert and Dorothy Murphy.

Fred Himsel, age 75 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 8::00 a..m. Tuesday, (August 25, 2015) at his home.

He was born in Jasper, Indiana on September 5, 1939 to Elmer and Evelyn (Mann) Himsel.

Fred was a graduate of Dubois High School Class of 1957.

His interests were NASCAR, and INDY Car Racing, and watching sports.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana.
