He was born February 16, 1975 in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Joe and Brenda Sue (Cook) Masters. He married Samantha Renee` Ingle on May 13, 2000 in Washington, Indiana. Shawn worked at DC Broadcasting as a radio advertising and marketing representative. He was a member of the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce and the Moose Lodge in Washington; was an avid drummer; and loved music.

Funeral services for Shawn Masters will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Velpen. Pastor Darin Nossett will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 4:00-8:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Wednesday; and also from 9:00-11:00 a.m., on Thursday, prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family in care of Nass & Son Funeral Home.

A memorial service for 59-year old Larry Partenheimer of Evansville will be held Wednesday at 7 PM at the   Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand.

There will be a family gathering from 5PM until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Birdseye Cemetery at a later date.

Gervase “Jerp”  H. Becher , age 86 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away on Friday (March 6, 2015) at his son’s residence in Casa Grande, Arizona

Jerp was born on September 26, 1928 in St. Meinard, Indiana to Robert and Frances (Ruxer) Becher  He married Phyllis “Jane”  Schaaf on October 30, 1952 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.  She preceded him in death on February 21, 2013.
Jerp retired from the Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home where he worked for many years.   
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Jasper Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #147, VFW Post #673, Ireland Sportsman Club and served in the navy.
He enjoyed card playing, boating and spending time with his family.

Trent Alan Schum, 22 of Santa Claus passed away Monday March 2nd in Santa Claus. He was born September 14, 1992 in Evansville, In. to Marc & Gina (Hagedorn) Schum.

Surviving are his parents, Marc & Gina Schum of Santa Claus. 2 sisters, Janae Schum of Indianapolis, and Morgan Schum of Santa Claus. His maternal grandmother, Faye Hagedorn of Santa Claus, and Paternal grandmother, Kathryn Schum of Dale. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Edward A. Hagedorn and James Schum.

Trent was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Santa Claus. He was a 2011 graduate of Heritage Hills High School where he participated in wrestling. He attended Western Kentucky University where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He worked at Best Home Furnishings in Ferdinand. Trent enjoyed being with family & friends.

William J. (Sam) Schlachter, 82, of Ferdinand, passed away, Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. Sam was born February 7, 1933 in Ferdinand to William and Philomena (Sternberg) Schlachter. He married Frances Otto on June 18, 1955 in St. Martins Catholic Church in Siberia. Sam was a retired self-employed farmer. He was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church and St. Meinrad American Legion Post 366. Sam was a Korean Era Army Veteran.

Sam is survived by his wife Frances Schlachter of Ferdinand;
two daughters, Susanne (Susy) Cooper of Ferdinand and Jane Ubelhor and husband Don of Birdseye;
one sister, Lucille Lemmer of Jasper;
four grandchildren, Erin Sisley, Brad Cooper, Jared Ubelhor and Alison Cooper;
one great-grandchild, Madison Sisley.
Sam was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Arehart Henke.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM CDT in St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Siberia with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Military graveside rights will be provided by St. Meinrad American Legion Post 366.

John W. Nicholson, age 65 of Jasper, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, (February 26, 2015), at his home in Jasper.
He was born in Evansville, Indiana on December 26, 1949 to John and Inez Clair (Sermersheim) Nicholson. He married Ann Hohl on October 27, 1984 in the Neu Chapel, Evansville, Indiana.
John was a graduate of Jasper High School Class of 1968 and graduate from Indiana State University in 1973 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree.  He was a US Army Veteran serving in Berlin.
He retired from JOFCO in Jasper where he had worked for 22 years.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Men’s CHRP and the Jasper Gun Club.
He enjoyed boating and fishing at Patoka and volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul Society also working in his garden.

Larry P. Boehm, age 67, of Jasper, Indiana passed away at 10:11 a.m. on Wednesday (February 25, 2015) in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
Larry was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on August 17, 1947 to  Edward H. and Dorothy (Seifert) Boehm.   He married Becky Schmitt on August 8, 1970 in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.
Larry was a member of the United States Navy serving from 1965-1968, and during the Vietnam War.
Larry retired to Florida in 2003 from Coca-Cola, where he had been a salesman for 34 years.
He was a member of the Jasper High School Class of 1965, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Dale American Legion Post #444.
He was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling, college football and basketball, going to the casino, and he never met a person he couldn’t talk to.
