Norman V. Lange, 79 of Ferdinand passed away Tuesday February 24, 2015 in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center, Jasper. He was born April 13,1935 in Ferdinand to Herman & Ida (Begle) Lange. He married Sharon M. Rogier on August 22,1987 in St. Isidore Catholic Church in Bristow, In.
Norman retired from Styline Furniture, Manufacturing Division after 46 years. He was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish. He enjoyed watching game shows, attending car shows, and especially loved Corvettes. He enjoyed being with his family & friends.
Surviving are his wife Sharon M. Lange. 1 daughter, Holly Lange of Ferdinand. 2 sisters, Bernita Metz and husband Linus of St. Anthony, & Lastie Carl of New Albany. 1 brother, Donald Hoppenjans and wife Ann of Ferdinand. Sister-in-laws, Aleene Lange and Anna Lange both of Ferdinand.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Richard, Alfred “Shorty”, John, & Ernest Lange. 1 sister, Hermina “Minnie” Hoppenjans
Funeral services 10:00 AM Friday in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Sammie “Sam” Ridenour, age 76, of Wickliffe, Indiana, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at his residence in Casa Grande, Arizona.
He was born April 15, 1938 in Crawford County, Indiana, to Phillip and Bertha (Main) Ridenour. He married Sharon K. Walters on October 3, 1981 in Brownsburg, Indiana. Sam was a retired industrial and commercial electrician. He was a member of the Birdseye Christian Church; enjoyed woodworking as a hobby; and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. Sam was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Veneda Schanck; and one step granddaughter.

Funeral services for Sammie “Sam” Ridenour will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Wickliffe Cemetery in Wickliffe, Indiana. The V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail will conduct military graveside rites. Pastor Ron Hickman will officiate at the service.

Virlee M. Schwartz, age 77, of Huntingburg, passed away at 5:35 p.m., on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
She was born January 9, 1938 in St. Anthony, Indiana, to Emil and Anna (Metz) Wessel. She married Urban Schwartz on November 7, 1959 in Schnellville. Virlee was a farmer and also worked at Jasper Wood Products. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; an antique car enthusiast; enjoyed collecting antiques; and loved her pets. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Urban Schwartz, who passed away March 5, 1992; and one sister, Rose Ann Pund.
She is survived by:
Francis Pund of St. Anthony, IN,
and by nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Virlee Schwartz will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Thursday, February 26, 2015at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Huntingburg.

Merilee D. Bishop, 85, of Santa Claus, passed away, February 17th at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. Merilee was born February 26, 1929 in Dallas County, Missouri to Abner and Dorothy (Austin) Dill. Merilee was owner and operator of The Frame Up in Mt. Vernon TX. She was a former teacher in a one room schoolhouse in Dallas County, Missouri. Merilee enjoyed cross stitching, caring for her plants and was an avid reader.
Merilee is survived by one son, Darren Laughlin of Santa Claus;
one daughter,Gayle Ann Laughlin of Aloha, OR.;
one brother, Jim Dill of Peculiar, MO.;
one sister Gayle Dill of Springfield, MO.;
four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Merilee was preceded in death by a son, George Laughlin.
