Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation:
WBDC/WAXL and WJTS hosted a college student as an intern for a 14 week period in the DCBroadcasting companies and corporate office. While the student spent most of her time with the the GM and focused on marketing/sales she also was given instructions and on-hands experience with equipment. The student participated as an intern and received credit for a college course at Vincennes University Jasper Campus and is interested in a broadcast career. She spent approximately 12 hours weekly on various days and times at the various stations.
This intern was hired in May as a part-time employee of WBDC/WAXL and WJTS-TV

Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation:
WBDC-FM and WAXL-FM hosted a student from Southridge High School. The student was a part of the SHS Internship Program. The student was at the Radio Station studios for approximately 1 hour daily from 8am to 9am. He was taught workplace skills and broadcast career opportunities and the education needed. The student was given a chance to see how skills learned in school relate to the workplace. The student was given daily production responsibilities and research duties in broadcast.

Office Wednesday through Friday approximately 1 hour daily for 8am to 9am. She was taught workplace skills and broadcast career opportunities and the education needed. The student was given a chance to see how skills learned in school relate to the workplace. The student was given daily responsibilities and research duties in broadcast.

DCBroadcasting Companies (including WBDC, WAXL, WRZR, and WJTS-TV) VP/GM William C. Potter attended the IBA Job Fair Saturday October 20, 2012 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr. Potter has the say in the hiring of all employees of DCBroadcasting, Inc. including WBDC, WAXL, WRZR, and WJTS-TV. In addition to having a booth at the job fair, many applications were accepted and on-site interviews were held. WBDC, WAXL, and WRZR each aired 20 thirty-second announcements and WJTS-TV aired 20 thirty-second announcements promoting the job fair and encouraging participation by job seekers and those interested in broadcast careers.

WBDC FM, WAXL FM, WRZR FM, WJTS-TV aired a total of 95 PSA’s on each station…Public Service Announcements offering information about the Indiana Broadcasters Association Scholarship Program. The PSA’s encouraged high school and college students to apply for the general IBA scholarship and the Minority Scholarship. Scholarships were made available to the public at the WBDC FM, WAXL FM, WRZR FM, WJTS-TVstudios. WBDC FM, WAXL FM, WRZR FM, WJTS-TV also made a financial contribution the Indiana Broadcasters Foundation for the scholarship program

Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation: William C. Potter, GM and Jesse Kluesner, Production Director gave tours of the offices and studios at WJTS-TV. During the tour and discussion of broadcast, staff told the scouts basic job requirements, responsibilities and opportunities for careers in broadcasting. The scouts recorded a station promo. The tour attendees were also told of the importance of education and broadcast.

Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation: Students from Jasper High School Junior Achievement program spent half a day at WBDC and WAXL Radio learning about broadcast radio. A tour of the stations and discussions of career opportunities in broadcast were given to the students (10 students). The students were given hands on training in various broadcast applications.
